Combines

Is anyone reading this or just Karen and I? :)

I think I am a country girl at heart. I wrote in a previous post about how much I love the fall. Another thing I love about fall is seeing the combines hard at work in the fields. It does trigger some sadness in my heart to see the empty fields, knowing they will be empty until the spring planting season. But, oh how I love to see those combines going up and down the fields. Cora has been fascinated by this also. We got to watch my Uncle picking soybeans the other day in a field near my parent's home. She didn't know what to think of this big, noisy machine. Uncle Jim farms the land around my parent's property. I hope that we are there the day he picks the corn. Cora and I may have to sit in the yard and watch.

Sorry, I am kind of sporadic with looking at blogs. Life is soooo full right now. I love fall too! My favorite season. Today it actually feels like fall in South Carolina. We woke up to freezing cold air...50 degrees...LOL I know, I am a southern weanie now! I do miss seeing the fields harvested. Down here fall comes so late and lasts till Christmas sometimes. I 've learned to love "fall" things here. For us fall is Arts in the Heart, (like the blueberry fest for you guys), The greek fest (this weekend, can't wait!), and of course Oktober fest put on by all the german military wives in the area. There are some colors to appreciate. The crepe myrtles are still in bloom, there are a variety of fall flowers, and there are a few deciduous trees. (probably spelled the d word wrong, oh well) Fall has arrived, even if I probably will cook Thanksgiving in shorts! HA! Enjoy your real fall Indiana ladies:-)
