Mom, that name encompasses a lifetime. To others she became Grandma Abby.
She was courted by Dad while she worked at the local hospital with her friends. Life was simple, really. If the "boys" that all the girls were dating were not able to take them out to the movies on any certain night they would stay in and have "girl fun". In her diary, she would write about sitting with the girls and doing embroidery together for the evening in and loving every minute of it with them..Of course, she was young and in love and if she did not see "Bob" for a few days she would then write how much her heart ached for him too! Some things don't change!! Girls' in love!
Three years ago, Mom went home to be with the Lord and be introduced to Heaven. We heard the little bells ringing for no earthly reason the night before, all by themselves; so her spirit was eager to go the next night to that place and see her Bob again too! We believe she danced with him and the angels that night! We miss her and Dad! I still find myself thinking of them puttering around their home, doing their talents together is a memory that warms my heart. Making those wonderful porcelain dolls together!!! and now Quilting brings me closer to the gift she embraced the last 11 years of her life here. My husband Gary has built us a log home and is setting up a woodworking shop to make bowls, lamps, candle holders, whatever my sister and I and our families can come up with.
We have talked about it. They reached out their last season of life. We want to do that. Endeavoring to serve others!!
God bless you! Do you have a plant or something left from Moms' memorial? We still enjoy the philodendron from that time, it has done so well that we put it in another pot, an Autumn pot, of course!! Gary's Mom had an old Christmas Cactus, so we have 2 of those plants growing for her, one bloomed at Christmas in pink and one bloomed white on Moms' Day!!
Life is sweet! Handle it with prayer and care!! Let me know if you need to meet me at the well, any day, or time of day or night!! We will meet Jesus there and let Him fill our vessels!!!
Don't forget to pray for Kevin Simon, he has a heart catherization to find where his irregular heart rate is coming from on the 27th; he is Linda Simons' husband, they live in Virginia and she is Leah's best friend from high school days. Thank you!!!
I must say, as always!! God bless you as you come to the well!!! Dobs
